The person in this position supports Barr’s compensation programs and human resources information system (HRIS) maintenance and analytics, providing timely internal and external data to support decision making. Compensation-related responsibilities include administering annual compensation programs, ensuring regulatory compliance, completing surveys and analyzing and sharing results, preparing reports as requested, assisting with compensation-related communications, and identifying and assisting with implementation of continuous improvements. HRIS-related responsibilities entail: maintaining data integrity, preparing and updating performance metric reports and dashboards, responding to ad hoc reporting requests, managing end-user system access, and working with the Information Systems staff to test system patches and upgrades. Creating and maintaining accurate process documentation is an important function of this role. Work also involves serving as a back-up for weekly payroll processes and benefits administration. The person in this position is embedded in the compensation and benefits group and is part of Barr’s Human Resources team.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field with an emphasis in human resources, finance, economics, mathematics, or other analytical field of study
  • Three years of related experience
  • Experience maintaining and auditing data quality
  • Strong technical and problem-solving skills
  • Experience identifying and recommending process improvements
  • Strong client service skills, including ability to understand, educate, and build relationships with internal clients and vendors
  • Excellent organizational skills including ability to confirm priorities with stakeholders and plan, monitor, and follow through on work commitments to anticipate, meet or exceed client expectations
  • Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
  • Attention to detail, accuracy, and completeness in work output
  • High-level proficiency with Microsoft Excel
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States without the need for sponsorship
  • Acceptable driving record


Preferred Qualifications

  • Deep knowledge of compensation practices and related employment laws
  • Four or more years of experience in compensation administration and related reporting and analysis
  • Experience managing projects
  • Process documentation experience
  • Experience with Epicor HCM
  • Experience developing and delivering training on compensation practices or processes
  • CCP (Certified Compensation Professional) certification
