  • Collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams to complete project deliverables for clients
  • Receiving coaching and mentorship from experienced professionals and experts
  • Participating in professional development sessions with senior leadership
  • Presenting on your key learnings and experience at Hatch.


Your Team

Hatch is seeking a law student to join our Client Agreements & Legal Services Group for the 2019/2020 summer vacation period. You will be working in an innovative team of driven professionals who are industry leaders and passionate about being a part of a company dedicated to delivering a better world through positive change. The AUA Legal Team’s application of design thinking to deliver more user-focused and value-add legal services has received industry recognition including being named a 2019 ACC Value Champion which you can read more about here .

Key Responsibilities:

To assist the 3 members of the AUA Legal Team (Legal Counsel/Company Secretary Australia-Asia (AUA), Legal Counsel AUA and the Legal Co-ordinator/Assistant-Company Secretary AUA) to:
  • Provide user-focused and timely advice on legal and governance matters in all areas of Hatch’s business in Australia-Asia;
  • Collaborate with internal colleagues to manage risk and maximize opportunity in professional services and other project agreements with clients, joint venture partners and suppliers in Australia-Asia and throughout the world;
  • Prepare contracts and relevant legal documentation, aligned with our governance and strategic plans relating to general commercial transactions, technology licensing, employment matters and, if applicable, mergers and acquisitions;
  • Build positive relationships internally and with our clients, partners and suppliers;
  • Be proactive to resolve claims and disputes; and
  • Actively explore and adopt innovative solutions to deliver legal services effectively and efficiently

The 12-week-paid full-time program commences on 18 November 2019 and concludes 21 February 2020.
