Downer Mining continues to strive forward with our projects in 2020. As a result, we are currently seeking experienced Maintenance Coordinators join the Downer team working a 2:1 roster for our Gruyere project.

Position Summary

Reporting to the Maintenance Superintendent, in collaboration with the Maintenance Supervisor, you will be responsible for coordinating and prioritising the day to day management of maintenance activities. This will involve providing direction to maintenance crews, communicating/adhering to plans and schedules, comprising of job scoping, work order creations, labour allocation, material sourcing, job costing and reporting. You will play an integral part by implementing continuous improvement principles and ensuring optimal safety performance and productivity.

Your proficiency in maximising contract profitability and sustainability together with managing multiple challenging priorities will determine your success in the role.

About You

The successful candidate will demonstrate the following:
  • Nationally recognised trade or tertiary qualifications within a Mechanical or Electrical capacity
  • Comprehensive knowledge and experience in repairing and maintaining heavy mobile plant equipment
  • Leadership experience within a mining maintenance environment
  • Current Mining Supervisor credentials (S1,2,3 & G2)
  • Systems experience with AMT and JEDGS is advantageous
  • Robust commitment to safe work practices, compliance, continuous improvement & successful results
  • Effective communication skills within a diverse environment
  • Exceptional organisational skills with a flair to work well under pressure
  • Familiar with the following equipment
    • Liebherr R9400 Excavators
    • Komatsu PC4000 Excavators
    • Komatsu 830E Dump Trucks
    • Komatsu WA900 Loaders
    • Caterpillar MT4400 Dump Trucks
    • Caterpillar 785 Dump Trucks
    • Caterpillar D10T Dozers, and 16M Graders
    • Drills - Caterpillar MD6250, Atlas Copco D65, DML60
