Position summary

Downer Mining provides open cut mining services at Karara mine, including drilling, blasting, loading, haulage and stockpile rehandle. The operation is a conventional pit with a 30Mtpa mining rate. The Karara pit will feed the client-run processing plant, which will produce 8Mtpa of magnetite concentrate. The concentrate will be transported by rail to Geraldton for shipment.

We are currently seeking an experienced Maintenance Foreperson to provide daily supervision of the maintenance personnel to plan, organise and optimise use of heavy mobile plant equipment within the required timeframes and quality requirements.

ABOUT YOU
  • Solid experience working at a Supervisory level and have the capacity to lead your team to achieve a high level of results
  • Previous mobile plant experience essential with Diesel Trade qualification
  • Strong knowledge and key fundamentals of Workplace Safety as well as facilitating broad range of safety activities
  • Experience monitoring mining equipment and processes in an Open Cut mining environment
  • Demonstrated ability in Coordinating and planning operations in an Open Cut mining environment
  • Lead by example related to all areas of environmental concerns in a mining environment
  • First Aid Certification , Working Safely at Heights, Confined Space and Section 44 (Desirable)
