WesTrac is seeking experienced Plant Mechanics to join our growing site-based teams across several mining operations in the Hunter Valley region. These are hands-on, site-embedded roles supporting industry-leading CAT® equipment in high-performing mining environments.

WesTrac is seeking experienced Plant Mechanics to join our growing site-based teams across several mining operations in the Hunter Valley region. These are hands-on, site-embedded roles supporting industry-leading CAT® equipment in high-performing mining environments.
As a Plant Mechanic, you will play a key role in maintaining and maximising equipment availability across large-scale mining operations. Your responsibilities will include:
- Servicing, maintaining and repairing CAT® mobile plant equipment
- Conducting inspections and preventative maintenance activities
- Diagnosing and troubleshooting faults to minimise downtime
- Completing repairs to a high standard while prioritising safety
- Working collaboratively within high-performing site maintenance teams
- Utilising advanced diagnostic tools and systems
What We're Looking For
To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:
- Mobile Plant Trade Qualification (Certificate of Proficiency highly regarded)
- Heavy Vehicle Trade Qualification will also be considered
- Experience working in mining, heavy equipment or similar environments - essential
- Strong fault-finding and diagnostic capabilities
- A commitment to safety and quality workmanship
- Ability to work effectively in a site-based team environment

- Working at Heights
- MDG25 certification
- Current mining inductions
