Job Description

The Journeyperson Electrician is to assemble, install, test, troubleshoot and repair electrical wiring, fixtures, control devices, and other equipment to required specifications meeting or exceeding Redpath and government regulations/standards.

Located at our North Bay shop facility, this position provides a stable Monday-to-Friday work schedule and the opportunity for occasional travel as part of supporting field operations and project activities.

Successful applicant will be required to successfully complete pre-employment drug, alcohol and medical evaluation.

Responsibilities

• Perform electrical repairs according to requirements in shop Work Orders
• Read and interpret electrical drawings, circuit diagrams and electrical code specifications
• Must be able to comprehend written and verbal instructions as required to perform his duties in a safe and efficient manner
• Must be able to follow proper procedure to ensure safety and to control equipment damage
• Perform diagnostic testing to identify problems and determine the solution to solve the problem
• Adjust equipment and repair or replace defective parts, components or systems
• Test repaired equipment for proper performance and to ensure that work meets manufacturer specifications
• Perform preventative maintenance according to schedules and maintain proper records
• Familiar with surface and underground electrical equipment
• Fabricate electrical panels and other necessary installation of electrical cables.
• Comply with all Redpath and government safety regulations and procedures
• Train and mentor new employees and/or apprentices
• Comply with daily, weekly and monthly safety policies

$41.14 - $47. 19 per hour, based on skills and experience

Qualifications

Education:
Required: High School Diploma, Trade certificate
Preferred: College level education, Trade certificate

Work Experience:
Required: 2-5 years' experience
Preferred: 5 years' experience in mining applications

• MS Office
• SharePoint
• E-mail
• Rockwell software
