Intermountain Electronics, Inc ., is seeking a Mechanical Assembly Technician for our Denver, CO, facility. IE is a leading provider of custom engineered and manufactured process, and electrical systems to the mining, oil & gas, and power/utility industries. IE's turnkey products are generally mobile - mounted on skids or in portable e-houses. Our products include portable power/generators, substations, electrical control rooms (MCC's/VFD's/switchgear), water-flood/disposal buildings, compressor skids, metering equipment, mining power skids, and other products used in the energy, oil and gas, and mining sectors.

Mechanical Assembly Technicians install cable trays, cut, bend and install buss bar, hang doors/siding, install specialty components, assemble and attach electrical components/devices on electrical equipment
such as E-houses, LACT units, metering skids, switch gear, capacitor banks, MCC houses, control centers, etc.

Assembly

* Install a variety of electrical equipment and component devices such as: cable trays, conduit, brackets, pipe hangers, assembly mounts for HVAC units, pumps, etc.

* Measure, cut and bend buss bar for specific projects

* Insulate buildings and hang doors, install siding.

* Assemble, fit and mount sub-assemblies, components, and standard fixed assemblies in electrical control equipment.

* Follow quality process in checking procedures and equipment to verify mechanical integrity of units

* Position, align, or adjust work pieces or electrical parts to facilitate wiring or assembly

* Perform installations compliant with current regulations and customer specifications

* Responsible for assigned project completion, quality and delivery according to work schedule



Experience and Skills
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

* High School Diploma plus one year experience working as a skilled laborer in heavy

industrial manufacturing operations or an equivalent combination of education and experience

* Ability to read and understand basic wiring schematics and layout diagrams.

* Experience with various hand tools.

* Self-motivated and capable of working in a team environment with minimal supervision.

* Confident with the ability to work closely with other technicians and management while keeping production flowing and meeting due dates

* Demonstrated proficiency to achieve high quality results in mechanical assemblies, siding of buildings, installing cable trays and components and continual attention to quality and detail in the final assembly stage of production.

* Must be detail oriented and committed to producing quality work

* Must be able to get along with co-workers, supervisors, management, etc.

Education/Experience:

High School Diploma lus one year experience working as a skilled laborer in heavy industrial manufacturing operations or an equivalent combination of education and experience

Language Ability:

Ability to read, interpret, understand prints and basic electrical schematics/ drawings and specification charts. Must be able to read, and understand Travelers, production schedules and quality specifications. Must be able to write NCR's and comply with safety rules. Must be able to establish productive and effective communication ties and relationships with co-workers, supervisors, customers, and staff.

Math Ability:

Ability to compute basic math - buss bar, siding measurements, etc. Must be able to accurately follow schematics. Ability to understand and know company operation costs and production costs and production overrun costs. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to analyze and understand project plan documents and prints and successfully resolve practical problems and they may occur. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Computer Skills:

Must be able to use computer to log in time and job hours.

Certificates and Licenses:

Valid Driver's License

Must possess valid OSHA forklift and Overhead Crane certification or ability to obtain such.

Safety:

Must comply with and follow all IE safety programs, policies and procedures. Must operate and perform job duties in a safe manner. Must be able to operate/work safely around machinery/moving equipment.
