Ausenco are currently recruiting for an experienced Metallurgical Technician to join our mining operation in North West Queensland. Working a flexible lifestyle roster with FIFO available from Brisbane / Townsville or Cairns.

Key Responsibilities of the Role:
    Execute necessary Metallurgical testwork, plant testwork and sampling optimisation programs Drive continuous process improvements through problem identification, project initiation, project evaluation and execution of projects Ensure all QA/QC processes, procedures and work instructions are followed Coordinate the management of reagent stock takes and reagent pumps Manage the operation of the OSA including spares Drive continuous improvement to reduce wastage and also to improve our processes Build positive relationships within the Processing and Maintenance department and other site departments.


Skills, Qualifications and Experience
    Current Driver's license Minimum Cert IV in Chemistry, Metallurgy or similar A minimum of 2 years' experience in the mining industry as a metallurgy technician or similar working in base metal sectors On Stream Analyser (OSA) Experience Previous experience working within a chemical or hydro-metallurgical processing environment Sound knowledge about laboratory equipment for sample preparation and metallurgical testing such as flotation machine, crusher, grinder, cyclone sizing, and particle sizer Demonstrated knowledge of math, chemistry and/or computer skills appropriate to the assignment Ability to develop and maintain awareness of occupational hazards and safety precautions Ability to multi-task Attention to detail Excellent written and verbal communication skills Willing to work in a remote area and night shift Commitment and enthusiasm for continuous learning

Pre-Employment Medicals along with Drug and Alcohol screening will be conducted as part of the recruitment process and you will be subject to ongoing Drug & Alcohol Screening whilst employed.
