About the role
The Metallurgist role offers an exceptional opportunity to be a part of a close-knit high-performing team as well as work closely with many other departments on site. Key result areas in this role include:

• Optimise plant performance maximising grinding throughput, recovery and gold produced
• Coordinate metallurgical projects.
• Assist with the development of plant operating manuals and procedures.
• Implement and maintain short- and medium-term production planning to provide accurate detailed forecasts.
• Liaise and cooperate with maintenance and processing personnel to ensure optimum performance & reliability of the plant.
• Ensure the Ore treatment function meets all site and external compliance requirements.
• Ensure that all plant trials are designed and conducted to produce statistically viable data for analysis.

About our Operation
Our Mt Rawdon gold operation is an open pit mine located 75km south west of Bundaberg in Queensland. Being a residential mine, our local employees go home every night, with many living in the communities of Mt Perry and Gin Gin. Our lifestyle friendly rosters mean that our DIDO employees can live in the metropolitan centres of Brisbane and the Sunshine Coast, giving our employees a great work-life balance.

About you
As a Metallurgist, you will have Tertiary qualification in Metallurgy or Minerals Processing. It is also important that you have/ demonstrate:

• Knowledge of comminution, CIP circuits, AARL elution circuits and gravity circuits
• Development and execution of projects (Capital and opex) to make improvements to the processing plant.
• Work with key stakeholders in the business to improve their skills and understanding
• Knowledge of laboratory practices (i.e use of pulverisers, Leico & AAS and troubleshooting lab issues)
• Development of tests for various metallurgical issues
• Experience with offsite test work
