Mount Isa Mines are currently advertising a permanent full-time vacancy that exists within our Technical Services department for an experienced underground Mine Surveyor. Reporting to the Senior Mine Surveyor, the successful candidate will undertake a variety of mine survey activities both within the Underground Copper Mine and within the Surface Operations. The remuneration for this role can range from $111,000 - $127,420, dependent on depth of experience, qualifications and skills the successful candidate will bring to the position. This is a residential role based in Mount Isa, working a 5/2, 4/3 (9-day fortnight) roster.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:
  • Timely and professional delivery of directional control for development mining, other set-outs and production drill mark-ups
  • Installation and maintenance of the mine survey control network
  • Undertaking void surveys using Optech/CALS survey equipment
  • Producing end of month survey reports for management
  • Measuring/calculating mine volumes for surface stockpiles and underground voids.

You will have the following skills and attributes:
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Tertiary qualification in Surveying/Geomatics
  • Sound knowledge of Leica Survey Equipment, and Deswik software or similar mining software
  • UAV Survey Experience Desirable
  • A commitment to continuous improvement in production and safety is essential .
