Position Overview

As an Equipment Engineer, you will support Mining operations. This position is responsible for the planning, scheduling, budgeting, utilization and reliability of a mining equipment fleet. The position will deal with day to day as well as long term issues related to an equipment fleet. The position's main focus will be to improve equipment reliability as well as implement, monitor, audit, and manage preventative maintenance programs. This position offers incredible opportunities not only to develop within the mining genre but is transferrable to any Kiewit district involved in the use of heavy construction equipment!

Location

This position is located in Soda Springs, ID.

Responsibilities

  • Understand and comply with all federal, state, and company health, safety, and environmental requirements as related to the surface mining environment.
  • Perform long/short range mine equipment planning, scheduling, and budgeting.
  • Use reliability and failure analysis data to increase equipment availability and reliability.
  • Establish and maintain communications between all levels of supervision and management.
  • Support of craft maintenance technicians - ordering parts, manage inventory, schedule crews, and manage quality and safety.


Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering/ Mechanical Engineering Technology, or Diesel/Automotive Technology.
  • 3-5 years of field related/equipment experience.
  • Willingness to travel and relocate as required.
  • Willingness to work in both office and field environments and ability to freely access all points of a construction or mining site as needed.


Working Conditions (Selection)

  • Fast-paced office as well as working mine environment; must be able to interact professionally with all levels of management, staff and craft personnel while simultaneously manage a diversified workload and challenging situations efficiently and effectively; regularly sit, stand, walk and talk and listen; occasionally lift and move up objects up to 50 pounds. Work in potentially wide ranging climates and environment.
