The Gruyere gold deposit hosts one of Australia's most exciting new gold mines. Gold Road Resources and Gold Fields are proud to have an established 50/50 JV partnership over Gruyere. With Gold Fields as the JV manager, the team at Gruyere have hit the ground running.

Role Details

Reporting to the Senior Surveyor, you will contribute to the achievement of safe delivery of the mining operations plan through the provision of comprehensive survey control, guidance, and reconciliation service. Be an active team member undertaking field survey services using GNSS, laser scanner and UAV data capture platforms, and maintaining an accurate and effective data management system. Actively contribution to Vital Behaviours, hazard identification, procedural updates, and other pro-active safety improvements.

This role is offered on an 8 days on 6 days off roster and is Fly in and Fly out from Perth.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Always act in a manner that seeks to enhance the strong safety culture and performance of Gold Fields and ensures that the Vital Behaviours program is supported and strengthened;
  • Ensure that production targets are achieved through accurate survey work by applying due diligence and ensuring the care, calibration, and maintenance of survey equipment;
  • Timely preparation, survey, and distribution of mining-related instructions to appropriate mining personnel and business partners;
  • Ensure technical support is provided to overcome operational challenges and contribute to problem-solving, working as a team to ensure delivery;
  • Identify product, process or quality system non-conformance and recommend corrective/preventative actions;
  • Contribute to company and statutory compliance obligations through the generation of quality reports and input of physicals on a regular basis as directed;
  • An individual capacity to develop and maintain a professional, results-oriented approach to their work performance;
  • Consistently demonstrate and reflect behaviours, actions and attitudes in line with the Gold Field's Vision, Values and Code of Ethics. Actively promote Gold Field's policies, procedures and systems relating to your area of responsibility.

Key factors to your success include:

  • Authorised Mine Surveyors Certificate Grade 2
  • Degree or Advanced Diploma in Mine Surveying
  • Minimum 4 years' experience in open pit mine surveying
  • Extensive experience in mine surveying applications such as Deswik and Trimble GNSS
  • Experience in the use of UAVs and laser scanners
  • Exposure to prism monitoring systems
  • Possess a valid WA class C license
  • Dedicated team attitude
