What you will do:
  • Provide health care and safety services for the Aurora employee population across a variety of settingsmanages and coordinates all portions of the testing process, from administration of testing to paperwork, doctor and laboratory confirmation, invoicing, and scheduling of tests
  • Diagnose and treat job-related injuries and conditions, assess working environments to prevent workplace injuries and illnesses, and train workers on proper safety procedures to prevent or respond to workplace-related health issues
  • Understand the organization's workers' compensation program as well as family and medical leave cases
  • Manage vaccination programs, from procurement of vaccine to injection
  • Manage Fit-to-Wear testing process, for Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus devices
  • Perform emergency medical services (suturing, burn treatment), provides episodic primary care services, and writes prescriptions
  • Oversee Workers Compensations and OSHA record keeping programs
  • Ensure that case management, referrals, and follow-ups are provided and appropriately documented
  • Perform medical exams for newly hired employees, (USDOT), heavy equipment operator's applicants, and employees potentially exposed to chemical, biological, or physical hazards in the work place
  • Maintain records by completing patient records; filing reports
  • Prevent injuries and illnesses by analyzing historical records; researching occupational literature; recommending measures to reduce risks of injury or illness
  • Maintain employee health by administering routine health examinations; special screenings, such as, lead screenings; eye and skins evaluations for employees working with lasers; hearing tests in high-decibel environments; pulmonary function tests
  • Maintain drug-free work environment by conducting periodic drug testing
  • Promote healthy lifestyles by conducting smoking, weight reduction, stress control, cancer screening, hypertension screening and control, cholesterol reduction programs; training employees in CPR and first-aid techniques
  • Monitor employee absenteeism statistics by tracking attendance; following-up with the employee and the employee's supervisor
  • Maintain employee confidence by keeping employee health information confidential
  • Update employee health database by verifying and entering data
  • Improve quality of results by studying, evaluating, and re-designing processes; implementing changes
  • Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; participating in professional organizations; enforcing adherence to requirements; advising management on needed actions
  • Enhance employee health department and organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments
  • Must possess compassionate care, professional demeanor, and patient health information confidentially
  • Case management, counseling and crisis intervention, health promotion, risk reduction, legal and regulatory compliance, and worker and workplace hazard detection

What you will bring:
  • MSN Primary Health Care, Occupational Health Nurse Practitioner or MSN Environmental Health, Occupational Health Nursing Minimum of 2 years of Occupational health, ER or Urgent Care experience, is required
  • MSN Primary Health Care, Occupational Health Nurse Practitioner or MSN Environmental Health, Occupational Health Nursing Minimum of 5-10 years of Occupational health, ER or Urgent Care experience is preferred
  • NRCME-certified to perform commercial driver examinations
  • Knowledge of government and state standards regarding treating job related injuries and conditions, assessing working environments, and training workers on proper safety
  • Ideal candidate for this position will demonstrate versatility in a fast-paced, dynamic working environment
  • Ideal candidates will also demonstrate technical adaptability with working in a Windows-based computing environment, and strong word processing skills
