Our client is a dynamic mid-tier Australian mining and exploration company which is listed on the Australian Securities Exchange. On their behalf we are currently looking for an experienced safety and training professional for their premier mining operation in the North East Goldfields of Western Australia.

Reporting to the OHST Superintendent this role will play a significant role in:
  • The development and implementation of health and safety initiatives
  • Ensuring legislative requirements are met
  • Ensuring the incident management process is adhered to
  • Conducting workplace inspections
  • Assisting departments to have appropriate/approved work procedures
  • Ensuring all audits are recorded and an appropriate action plan management process is applied
  • Training needs analysis
Deliver site training modules and assist with the management of the LMS system.

Ideally you will have:

  • Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety
  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment
  • ICAM Lead Investigator
  • Several years' experience in mining
  • A sound knowledge of the Mines Safety and Inspection Act & Regulations
Ability to communicate effectively and build relationships with all levels of the business.

This position offers the opportunity to join a stable, low cost producer on a contract basis. The successful individual will be offered an attractive hourly rate, the opportunity to work within an experienced team and play an integral part in the sites safety and training function.
