Job Overview

Reports to: Regional Manager

Shift: 5 x 2

Location: Edmonton, Alberta

Relocation: This position offers relocation to Canadian Residents.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direction and leadership to a team of Shop and Field Service Technicians and Warehouse Personnel to consistently achieve profitable and quality standards.
  • Control and prioritize shop and field service jobs to ensure cost effective and timely electric motor rebuilds and equipment repairs.
  • Operate within established budgetary guidelines.
  • Maintain knowledge of service industry trends, developments, and standards.
  • Conduct regular meetings/training sessions to develop technical skills of the team.
  • Prepare and implement annual budgets for the Service Operation.
  • Review Service and Shop operation processes for consistency, quality, and improvement ideas
  • Front line communication with customers, both internal and external, as to disposition of ongoing business. Manages difficult or emotional customer situations; respond promptly to customer needs and solicit customer feedback to improve service
  • Lead and manage direct reports performance reviews/goal setting and oversite of annual raises and bonuses.
  • Review production costs and quality of repairs and rebuilds to and modify as necessary to maintain and enhance profitability.
  • Responsible for coordinating / sourcing the applicable training resources and tooling for technical, project management, planning, warranty and customer service to ensure that direct reports are following the most up to date procedures, processes and best practices/ trends and utilizing the best technology available for effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Attend monthly meetings with mine accounts to cover problems and plan additional work
  • Assume responsibilities of the Regional Manager in their absence.
  • Mentor, coach, motivate, communicate and provide guidance and instructions to direct reports and drive for building the safety and customer service culture
  • Define customer's needs and priorities and work with Regional Manager to incorporate into business strategies


Skills & Qualifications

  • Knowledge of Komatsu (P&H) products would be beneficial but is not required
  • Experience leading a team of tradesmen/technicians
  • Demonstrated direct service management experience
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Solid communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Experience with Microsoft Office software (Excel and Word) is essential
  • Strong health and safety focus
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to frame issues, gather data, and critically analyze it to identify relevant solutions
  • SAP experience, an asset
