Job Summary
Handles the technical analysis of the components identified with the earth and also the determination and assessment of different geological risks
Job Statement
We are seeking to employ an Open Pit Mine Geologist, to join a high performing team in a growing company.
Reporting to the Senior Mine Geologist, you will;
• Produce geological sections, plans, and long sections with interpreted and factual mapping of deposits.
• Develop and maintain geology and mineralisation wireframes.
• Map and document each mining bench, capturing geology, structure, and mineralisation.
• Generate mineable shapes (blocks) with minimal dilution and communicate extraction plans effectively with engineers and contractors, accounting for blast movement.
• Supervise mark-outs, ore extraction, and ore movements (dozing, grading) to maximise recovery and minimise dilution.
• Ensure timely data entry, tracking, and reconciliation of ore movements for daily, weekly, and monthly reporting.
• Identify and classify inferred, indicated, and measured resources to meet mine requirements.
• Log all RC grade control holes to a high standard and within required timeframes.
• Design, set out, and implement RC drill programs to define lodes ready for mining.
• Mentor and support geology technicians, fostering professional development.
This role is offered on 8 days on, 6 days off Fly In Fly Out roster from Perth to Leonora. Town based established accommodation in Leonora with great camp facilities including, gym as well as town facilities.

About you:

- Qualification in Geology
- Driver's license (C Class, manual car)
- Experience in open pit gold mining
- Well-rounded technical and geology software skills
