To accommodate the increased workload flowing from opportunities in the Western North American mining industry and the demand for process engineering resources within our Minerals and Metals (M&M) businesses across the Americas, Ausenco is looking to expand our Process Engineering Group in Vancouver and we are seeking an outstanding Principal Process Engineer ready to lead and grow the process team and to be a champion for the quality of the process designs produced. The person we are looking for will have a demonstrated track record of applying their technical expertise in the development of creative and sustainable process engineering designs and deliverables in support of successful studies and projects. They will be comfortable in taking a leadership role to represent the "face" of process engineering within our Vancouver office, to the broader Ausenco, and to clients.

The Principal Process Engineer role is particularly important within our team as process engineering strengths have always been at the heart of Ausenco's Minerals and Metals offering, which is based on adding value through innovative and cost-effective lean designs.

The M&M, Western North America group within Ausenco has a distinctive culture which allows us to service clients worldwide from our Vancouver office. Additionally, we draw on the expertise of Subject Matter Experts (SME's) from Australia and other offices in the Americas' region to complement our own knowledge base. The successful candidate will demonstrate their ability to work co-operatively with a range of professional colleagues to develop outstanding client solutions.

We are particularly focused on base and precious metals, with specific emphasis on comminution, beneficiation and recovery methods for copper, zinc, nickel and gold. We complete studies and projects for greenfield and brownfield. Our design work stretches from conceptual and scoping studies through bankable feasibility studies and into detailed design and commercial execution of projects. The successful candidate will have solid practical experience working in other engineering companies or working on EPCM projects or studies at various levels on the owner's side and is now seeking to broaden their horizons and to lead a team of professionals. Preference will be given to candidates with additional experience in operations or industrial settings.

As this is a leadership role, strong analytical and communication skills are a must. Ausenco is a client-focused firm and ability to relate to clients and respond to their requirements is a must. The nature of our work requires both divergent and convergent thinking - that is combining innovative approaches with meeting scope, budget, schedule and specifically working to deadlines.

The successful candidate will have strong leadership skills along with a background in comminution, base metals flotation, gold ore processing, and/or hydrometallurgy with experience in feasibility studies, detailed engineering design and commissioning being well regarded. Ability to travel as required and a commitment to, and enthusiasm for working in a team environment is essential.
