Mount Isa Mines are searching for an engaging, practical and driven Process Analyst to join the dynamic Processing Technical Services department. Reporting to the Superintendent - Strategic Planning & Projects, you will be an integral part of the team, working with business units to achieve the best utilization of the Copper North Queensland processing assets, identifying and progressing key opportunities/initiatives of strategic importance to the business and production planning for the group. This permanent full-time position is residentially based in Mount Isa on a 9 day fortnight roster (5/2, 4/3). The remuneration for this role can range from $107,000 - $125,000 dependent upon the depth of experience and skillset the successful candidate will bring to the position.

Your key responsibilities include:
  • Life cycle planning for the group; LOM, Budget and monthly production planning
  • Assisting with technical and economic evaluation of potential third party feeds for NQ copper assets
  • Negotiating and management of haulage contracts for third party materials
  • Managing cost savings, utilization / efficiency, and value-add projects within and between assets
  • Assisting in collating production and financial reporting data from all North Queensland copper areas
  • Actively seeking opportunities to reinforce a culture of safety, operational excellence and continuous improvement
  • Completing value adding projects that will benefit the long term operation of the asset

The successful applicant will have:
  • Tertiary qualifications in Metallurgy, Chemical Engineering or a related discipline
  • A strong understanding of the operations, dependencies and interactions through the product chain.
  • Exposure or experience with contract management;
  • Exposure or experience with end of month reporting or other analytics; and
  • A demonstrated ability to build good working relationships with people from all areas and at all levels of management.
  • A passion for continuous improvement and the ability to autonomously build initial business cases.
  • A high degree of competency with the Microsoft Programs Suite, including Excel VBA and PI Process Book/Data Link
