The Potash Engineering, Technology & Capital group in Saskatoon support our potash operations with technical expertise, solutions & standards development, and cross-site collaboration. The Process Control Engineer reports to the Senior Manager, Process Control.

What you will do:
  • The exact responsibilities of the role are somewhat flexible to the strengths of the successful candidate
  • Collaborate on Advance Process Control (APC) projects with site process engineers and central resources, evaluating potential solutions and paybacks, assisting in delivery and/or coordination
  • Develop advanced analytics and reporting on Nutrien's Enterprise PI (OSIsoft) infrastructure, and/or integrating that system across other aspects of Nutrien's business
  • Support on-site process, process control, automation and instrumentation projects
  • Create sustainable, long-term value-adding projects via engaging or training key stakeholders, successfully managing projects, and rigorously documenting solutions
  • Develop and deploy standards and best practices for process control, automation, mineral processing, controls systems, instrumentation, etc.

What you will bring:
  • Bachelor's Degree from a recognized university in a related engineering discipline (Process Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, Mineral Process Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Automation / Controls Engineering)
  • Professional Engineer Designation or immediately eligible
  • Minimum 5-7 years' work experience in an above engineering role
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills with key stakeholders
  • Proven experience in plant process monitoring, problem solving, and control systems
  • Extensive knowledge of potash and/or mineral processing is a plus
  • Pride in your excellent technical skills in at least some of these areas: DCS / PLC systems (DeltaV, Rockwell, other), data historians (OSIsoft PI), process data analytics, process simulation, process control, mineral mining and/or processing, data reporting
