Our Nelson team have an exciting range of confirmed Projects over the next few years, including significant stormwater upgrades, bridge and structural projects, Road construction, earthworks, 3-Waters Capital Projects, Urban street upgrades and much more. Supporting our long-term Maintenance Contracts and working closely with our local clients, our Construction Team is now ready to grow and we are looking for our next Project Engineer to join our team. Your role will involve variety in the management and delivery of these projects, taking full ownership from tender through to Practical Completion. About the role

The primary role will be management of sites and operational productivity of our Construction projects across the Nelson / Tasman Region.. This is a 'hands on role' where you will:
  • Bring your strong financial acumen to the team to ensure Projects are well tracked, forecasted and meet assigned budgets
  • Be highly responsive to and build collaborative relationships with our clients and deliver to tight deadlines
  • Take pride in everything you do and be driven by achieving.Optimize resource use to ensure a high standard and quality of work for our customers
  • Use your experience and technical knowledge to develop methodologies and programmes to deliver projects

Skills and attributes:
  • Proven successful Project Management experience, ideally within Construction. Road Maintenance, and/or Utilities.
  • Preparing project reports, proposals and budgets
  • A strong track record of positive leadership behaviours that empower others through collaboration
  • The ability to create and deliver a strong customer focus culture, and a collaborative approach to develop client relationships
  • An understanding of strategic asset management and local authority activities
