St Barbara is undertaking greenfield exploration in the Eastern Goldfields of Western Australia. We seek an experienced and dedicated Project Exploration Geologist keen to explore the potential of the region and discover gold deposits in a new and untested area.

This is a permanent full-time opportunity on a Fly-In Fly-Out 14 days on, 7 days off roster. The ideal candidate will be results-focussed, have experience supervising drill rigs and comfortable working in remote locations. This role will focus on our exploration tenements in WA, however, some travel will be required to our tenements in NSW.

Some of the key tasks will include:
  • Supervising field-based exploration programs including drilling, geophysical surveys, soil sampling and geological mapping;
  • Collecting, collating, interpreting and presenting geological data from gold field exploration programs;
  • Identifying new exploration targets and opportunities in consultation with team members;
  • Ensuring Exploration systems of work and standard work practices are current and achieve industry best practices

About You
  • Behaviour consistent with St Barbara's Values;
  • Current unencumbered West Australian 'C' Class manual Driver's Licence;
  • A degree qualification in geology
  • Experience in a similar role within gold exploration, ideally within Western Australia
  • Demonstrated experience in collecting, managing and interpreting high quality geoscientific data particularly from Aircore and RC drilling
  • Sound understanding of the Regolith profile in the Archean terrains and its effects on gold distribution
  • Skills in geological software applications, such as Micromine and ArcGIS
