Position summary
Downer Mining's division have an opportunity for an experienced and driven Recruitment Team Leader, to oversee the recruitment and mobilization function responsible for resourcing Downer Mining's open cut, underground, tyre maintenance and blasting services.
  • Lead and guide a large recruitment team to provide a high caliber effective end to end recruitment service to the business
  • Build strong relationships with HR business partners, hiring managers, project managers and other key stake holders to advise and provide guidance for all matters related to recruitment and mobilization personnel
  • Drive the agenda for effective resource workforce planning partnering closely with the HR managers and business managers
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to develop and maintain a workforce demand forecast based on scheduled and forecasted work
  • Proactively maintain, build and manage contingent labour pools in line with workforce forecast requirements
  • Develop and implement sourcing strategies to attract and grow our brand and EVP in key target markets
  • Ensure the recruitment team have a strong understanding of project scopes, deliverables, rosters, remuneration and commercial impacts
  • Reporting on key recruitment metrics including activity and progress to key stakeholders through internal systems
  • Continual drive for continuous improvements to optimize the efficiency of recruitment to continuously improve delivery service to internal customers
  • Management of third party vendors pertaining to the recruitment process activities such as agencies and training providers
  • Influence for results as a senior leader of the recruitment leadership team.


ABOUT YOU

You will be a self-motivated, passionate recruitment professional that actively demonstrates and drives best practice and continuous improvement to enable process efficiencies. With a business partnering, solutions-oriented approach you are adaptable and capable of leading a large team in a high volume and complex environment.
  • Qualification or degree in Human Resources or Business or 5+ years experience in similar role
  • Proven track record as a successful Recruitment leader in a high volume recruitment environment within the Mining industry is preferable
  • Experience managing team accountable for both blue and white collar recruitment including workforce planning
  • Experience with PageUp, Linkedin Professional preferred
  • Ability to communicate effectively building and fostering relationships with employees and senior management
  • Able to work independently, be credible, confident with a high level of integrity
  • Thorough knowledge of the labour laws
  • Competent in MS Excel
