The Dargues Gold Mine is located in Majors Creek, NSW and situated around an hour's drive from both Canberra and the South Coast. The Dargues Gold Mine represents the first new gold mine to be approved in NSW since Lake Cowal more than 10 years ago. The project will comprise of underground workings, a run-of-mine (ROM) Pad, temporary waste rock emplacement, crushing facility, gold processing plant, tailings storage facility and associated infrastructure.

PYBAR Mining Services is the Mine Operator of the Dargues Gold Mine, overseeing the entire mining process from scheduling, mine design, excavation and processing. This is a rare opportunity to be a part of a large mining contractor, with resources across Australia, in a newly developing underground hard rock mine.

We have an exciting new opportunity for an experienced Safety and Training Coordinator who is safety focused, enthusiastic and willing to work as part of a dynamic team.   • Coach and mentor workers, encouraging safe behaviour through observations and demonstration of proactive safety actions whilst always showing a genuine care for all workers health, safety and welfare;
  • Deliver training and assess competency levels;
  • Coordinate occupational hygiene assessments;
  • Facilitate risk assessments;
  • Work closely with stakeholders to maintain and improve WHS systems and compliance;
  • Accurately maintain the site training matrix;
  • Assist in the management of injuries and rehabilitation of injured workers;
  • Assist with facilitation of ERT training and recruitment; and
  • Lead incident analysis.

  • Hold Tertiary qualifications in Work Health and Safety;
  • Hold a Certificate IV TAE;
  • Hold qualifications and experience in auditing (Desirable);
  • Drug and Alcohol Tester (Desirable);
  • Certificate 3 in Mines Rescue (Desirable);
  • Have advanced computer skills;
  • You will be a self-motivated individual who possess a can-do attitude and a willingness to be part of a small and effective team;
  • Have proven experience in an underground safety and training position;
  • Hold a curren t and valid driver's licence; and
  • Hold or be willing to obtain a national police clearance.

If you have practical underground mining experience operating a variety of equipment this will be an advantage.
