Our Transport Services team at Downer NZ are experiencing sustained growth and have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Estimator to join their busy team based in Auckland!

About the role
Reporting to the Construction Contract Manager, you'll be someone who can add value to our close knit team by working across a range of maintenance contracts and civil infrastructure projects.

As a key part of the team, you'll be involved in strategically planning the future workloads, as well working closely with our Bids team. Your days will consist of a mix of bid strategy, tender preparation and estimating. You'll also be involved in negotiation and handover, and evaluation and performance appraisal of subcontractors and suppliers - just to name a few!

About you
We want to hear from you if you have the following attributes (or can tick at least most of them):
  • Proven experience in the tendering process within a major contracting environment
  • A track record of working as part of a team on large value, multi-disciplinary projects
  • A formal tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering or quantity surveying
  • A high degree of computer literacy including use of estimating software (preferably Candy CCS)
  • High level written and verbal communications skills
  • The ability to work closely within a great team
