Title: Senior Geotechnical Engineer

Work location: Perth

Roster: Monday to Friday

Reporting to the Specialist Geotechnical Engineer Design, we are actively seeking the talents of a dynamic and skilled Senior Geotechnical Engineer to join our team and help manage projects from conception through to execution.

In this position, you will draw upon your significant experience in the execution of geotechnical drilling programs, geotechnical testing program, geotechnical site characterization and analysis using various geotechnical design packages. The role will operate across a range of mine planning and development horizons including exploration and development.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Provide support for geotechnical studies including data collections programs.
  • Offer technical advice and consultation with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Deliver support in the geotechnical design and reporting for approvals and regulatory commitments.
  • Geotechnical modelling and reporting related to open pits and waste rock dumps.
  • Maintain a collaborative relationship with other business units and external parties, contribute to knowledge building and awareness, influence decision making regarding ground control management and geotechnical systems.

Desired Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree or an equivalent tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering or similar is preferred.
  • Minimum 5-year experience in both geotechnical design slope stability modelling, analysis and operational management.
  • Detailed Knowledge of geotechnical data collection, laboratory testing and mine planning processes is essential.
  • Excellent communication and report writing skills, with a demonstrated experience of communicating to a variety of stakeholders.
  • Competent use of Vulcan and standard geotechnical software.
  • Strong data management and manipulation skills.
  • Strong team skills and willingness to travel for short periods.
