About the role

As our next Senior Health & Safety Advisor, you will be required to support the development, application, effective implementation and improvement of the health, safety and security management system across Thiess

In this role, you will:
  • Develop positive relationships with H&S team members, operational line managers and other support disciplines.
  • Assist with safety improvement initiatives, with a particular focus on the simplification of our safety systems as identified during site visits and governance audits.
  • Provide assistance in the development and application of the Thiess Governance Systems (TGS) and the Project Governance System (PGS) into both existing and new projects.
  • Assist in the start-up of new projects and provide necessary assistance in the development of Safety Management Plans, Baseline Risk Assessments, Project TeamSite's and overall HSS system creation.
  • Conduct corporate governance audits.
  • Assist with the preparation of necessary training processes including plans and inductions required to enable project start-up.

About you

You will have:
  • Undergraduate degree in Health & Safety, or related discipline (preferred).
  • On site health and safety experience in mining or a relevant industry role.
  • Exposure to mining industry (highly desirable), heavy industry or construction.
  • Strong communication skills, ability to communicate at various levels - both verbal and written.
  • Time management and organisational skills.
  • Familiar with core HSS system components.
