About the role

Due to continued growth into 2020, Mineral Resources have a new opportunity in our Project Services team for a Senior Resource Development Geologist on a predominantly 9/5 FIFO roster, with periods of work in the Perth head office as required. As a Senior Resource Development Geologist, the role will be responsible for planning and executing the exploration and resource development activities to support the expansion of the resource base of MRL's Yilgarn Iron Ore Project

This highly technical role will be responsible for generating, ranking and testing new and existing iron ore targets and planning and executing drill programs. You will also be responsible for mentoring and coaching field staff and to ensure operations are in line with statutory requirements. You will also be responsible for;
  • Contributing to technical reporting
  • Geological interpretation and ore domaining
  • Implementing continuous improvements and updates to current processes and procedures
  • Maintain and foster a working environment which prompts safety in all that we do, whilst also providing outstanding service

About You
  • Tertiary level education in Geology
  • At least 5 years experience in mining and exploration industry
  • Drill planning and supervision experience
  • Experience with Micromine/Surpac and Mapinfo/ArcGIS
  • Sound interpersonal skills and the ability to work independently
  • Comprehensive understanding of iron deposits in the Yilgarn Cratons desirable
  • Understanding of tenement management requirements and DMIRS reporting requirements desirable
