Role Details
Gold Fields Australia is currently seeking a Service Crew Operator to join their Granny Smith Underground Mining team. This role is offered on 8 days on, 6 days off, 7 nights on, 7 nights off roster and is FIFO from Perth.

Reporting to the Supervisor: Underground Production, the successful incumbent of this role will be responsible for providing quality and timely underground mining support services such as air, water, ventilation, pump lines and electricity. This will assist in timely development and production to recover targeted ore to ensure operational targets are met in a safe, environmentally compliant and efficient manner.

Key responsibilities will include:
  • Acting in a manner that seeks to enhance the safety culture and performance of GFA and ensures that the Vital Behaviors are adhered to at all times
  • Carrying out operational tasks relating to ventilation, water, power, ground support, and compressed air, assisting colleagues to do the same and seeking the advice and support from the Mining Shift Supervisor as required;
  • Operation of tools and equipment including but not limited to Elevated Work Platforms, Integrated Tool Carriers and other hydraulically operated mobile machinery;
  • Support the efficient operation of the underground mining systems and processes by providing reliable and accurate operational knowledge in order to minimise down time;
  • Working in a safe manner in order to achieve the production goals of the mine;
  • Assist in the provision of preventative maintenance through scheduled inspections, servicing, adjustments, troubleshooting and organising the timely repair of operating equipment; and,
  • Action all allocated tasks in accordance with current site environmental policies including the requirements to control, contain, clean-up and communicate all environmental spills with particular attention to oil and hydraulic leaks.


Key factors to your success include;
  • Experience in underground operations in a service or paste crew capacity
  • Truck Operation experience would be advantageous to your application
  • Extensive record of safe underground mining practices
  • Dangerous Goods and Working at Heights Ticket is required
  • Valid "C" WA drivers licence is essential
  • Senior First Aid ticket is desirable
