Job Duties

SHEQS planning & policy design
  • Devise H&S strategy based on analysis of previous years and study of current year
  • Outline annual plan including policy changes, key indicators for monitoring as well as key initiatives for implementation
  • Communicate plan for comments and inputs with senior leadership and project leaders, to finalize annual strategy and plan for the unit
  • Periodically review and revise safety & health policies in context of changing business as well as regulatory context

SHEQS implementation
  • Prioritize, plan and guide implementation of H&S initiatives as per strategy
  • Develop and communicate frameworks and guidelines for project implementation to project H&S teams
  • Provide advisory as well as collateral support to project H&S teams through the course of implementation
  • Identify and address needs for development and training around H&S frameworks and processes, through development of H&S training curriculum and guidelines relevant to different employee groups
  • Conduct monthly meetings with project safety managers and other teams to track and monitor project implementation and discuss challenges

SHEQS monitoring and audit
  • Set up audit taskforces for review and audit of initiatives as well as H&S compliance on site
  • Periodically review awareness of H&S strategy and guidelines, as well as performance against H&S indicators
  • Prepare business cases for any interventions proposed to address H&S concerns
  • Design and roll-out interventions in discussion with project leaders to address deviations/ audit findings
  • Publish periodic reports on performance against indicators, to the project leaders and senior leadership

Job Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety & Health
  • More than 10 years in a leadership role managing Safety & Health portfolio for a large infrastructure organization
  • Strong experience in monitoring safety procedures in the construction industry
  • Good knowledge of safety regulations within the SEA region e.g. Singapore, Philippines, Indonesia
  • Strong communication and presentation skills are preferred
