Job Overview

The Sr. Product Manager- Undercarriage is responsible for both product planning and product marketing for UC and UC support programs, tools, and activities. This includes managing the product throughout the Product Lifecycle, gathering and prioritizing product and customer requirements and defining the product vision to deliver winning solutions. It also includes working with sales, marketing and support to ensure revenue and customer satisfaction goals are met. The Product Manager's job also includes ensuring that the product and marketing efforts support the company's overall strategy and goals.

Scope

Responsible for Komatsu Genuine Undercarriage product category, as well as all support hardware/software used by our distribution network (such as UMS and Ultrasonic Tools). Annual parts sales exceeding $70 million. Required to work directly with all Komatsu Distributors, Komatsu Product Managers, and District Parts Sales Managers. Responsible for engaging, training, and leading parts personnel development at the parts counter of assigned dealers. One direct report whose primary responsibility is growth of parts sales in the Forestry segment.

Key Job Responsibilities

  • Identify and quantify ROI for initiatives and programs which support sales and market share.
  • Provide high value technical support to all District Parts Sales staff, Major Accounts and Distributors on assigned Komatsu products through day-to-day sales and marketing activities, product training, customer visits, competitive comparisons, job studies, joint work plans and value propositions
  • Develop parts counter personnel and parts managers at assigned dealers as part of our Marketing Reform Activities
  • Analyze, recommend and monitor inventory and pricing for Komatsu Genuine Undercarriage, to ensure competitive position, market share, revenue and margin targets are achieved.
  • Lead, co-ordinate and execute new parts products and parts marketing programs on assigned Komatsu products, to include: sales and marketing material, competitive comparisons, training and sales support.
  • Based on regular analysis of market trends and opportunities, recommend parts changes, improvements, modifications or terminations on assigned Komatsu products.
  • Manage the development of a parts marketing associate responsible for Forestry parts sales growth.


Qualifications/Requirements

  • University degree (minimum of B.S. /B.A.) in Marketing or Business required.
  • Five years' industry experience in sales, marketing or product support with industrial equipment OEM, distributor or customer.
  • Several years of experience as product manager or sales manager for Undercarriage products and a high degree of technical experience related to UC systems is required for Senior Product Manager role.
  • Demonstrate a high capacity to analyze and identify solutions to overcome complex business problems.
  • Good technical skills and an understanding of equipment maintenance procedures and repair requirements.
  • Strong leadership skills supported with quality presentation and communication skills, including computer proficiency (MS Office, application tools as required).
  • Highly organized and efficient time manager, proficient at responding quickly to customer issues, capable of maintaining focus on objectives while traveling approximately 50% of the time .
