About the role

WorkPac Professional are currently recruiting for a experienced Construction Supervisor to join our clients Canberra team. The main focus of this role will be to coordinate and manage trades during the restoration for buildings damaged by insurable events throughout Canberra and regional NSW. The position is for an initial 6 month contract with an immediate start.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Take ownership of jobs from commencement to completion
  • Engage, coordinate & manage trades during the restoration process for buildings damaged by insurable events
  • Communicate & negotiate with trades to track the progress of jobs
  • Provide regular updates to customers
  • Liaise between insured parties & insurance companies
  • Coordinate access to properties with insured parties
  • Dispute / issue resolution as required
  • Ensure all inspections, certificates of final inspection from building surveyor & relevant documentation is signed off
  • Ensure all work conforms to legislative & contractual OHS requirements
  • Regular travel around Canberra & surrounding areas

Key Selection Criteria:
  • Extensive experience supervising construction projects
  • Relevant building trade qualification, preferably in carpentry
  • Strong computer skills
  • Excellent communication & customer service skills
  • Relationship building skills
  • Ability to manage multiple & competing priorities
  • Ability to be empathetic to the needs of the client
  • Good work ethic
  • Understanding of OHS practices, legislation, regulations & current market rates
  • Current motor vehicle licence
  • Prior experience in the insurance building industry advantageous, however not essential
  • White Card
  • Asbestos Card
