About the role

In continued support of strong growth in the areas of Technology, Solutions and Automation, we have an opportunity for a Technology Service Supervisor to be based in the Newcastle / Hunter Valley Region.

Reporting to the Technology & Solutions Manager, the focus of this role is to supervise & coordinate the team of Machine & Guidance Technicians during the implementation, delivery, installation and training of the Caterpillar technology product range, while providing the highest level technical support for customers and dealer personnel.

Our WesTrac Technology Team automates the world’s largest and most technologically advanced mobile mining and construction fleet assets of our top tier clients. We are dedicated to delivering leading edge technology solutions that are driving major advances in mobile mining and construction fleet safety and performance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Planning and scheduling for the Technology and Solutions Team
  • Managing daily WIP (Work In Progress) and Technician productivity KPI’s
  • Troubleshooting and resolving complicated customer / dealer technical issues
  • Effective quotation for parts and service sales

This position is offered on a full time permanent basis working Monday to Friday, 8:30-5pm.

Skills & Experience
  • Mechanical or Electrical Trade qualified with extensive experience in influencing, negotiating and resolving customer disputes
  • Previous experience within a related industry (heavy equipment, equipment management, automotive industry)
  • Previous experience using the Technology Products (e.g. MineStar, autonomous systems, communications systems, high precision GPS)
  • Several years experience working with Caterpillar products and parts
  • Supervisor experience including mentoring and coaching of individuals
  • Highly organised and able to manage fluctuating workloads and conflicting priorities
  • Highly developed problem solving and analytical skills with the ability to provide recommendations
