With residential, DIDO and selected FIFO opportunities available at our operations which are located just outside of Orange, NSW. Who we’re looking for
  • As a Development Specialist, you will be accountable for the general day-to-day supervision of the underground operations and personnel. You will lead a safe, productive, sustainable and cost-effective project, ensuring Newcrest’s safety culture, values and behaviours are embedded.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Planning and coordinating daily mining activities and supervision of staff who prepare, inspect and work onsite
  • Ensuring effective compliance to plans and schedules, ensuring development goals and milestones are met and adhering to approved budgets
  • Monitoring progress against plan and taking corrective action to achieve compliance with weekly and monthly shift plans.
  • Undertaking specific tasks as directed by the Underground Operations Superintendent and relieve the Superintendent as required
  • Ensuring health and safety of staff in compliance to Newcrest company standards, thus maintaining a safe, productive, sustainable and cost-effective work environment
  • Providing leadership to Underground Development Mining Supervisors and operators through career development, training, coaching and performance measurement

We are looking for qualified, safety focused and team-oriented individuals who have:
  • A strong attitude and commitment to workplace health and safety
  • Extensive and proven experience in a similar role running and managing underground hard rock mining operations
  • Relevant Shift Supervisors ticket desirable
  • A valid Australian driver’s licence
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
