An exciting opportunity exists for a Ventilation Officer who strives to achieve high quality performance and results. Appointed by, and accountable to, the Underground Mine Manager, the Ventilation Officer has an organisational reporting relationship with the Technical Services Manager and is responsible for managing and optimising the ventilation and gas management systems. This position also offers an 8/6 day shift roster.

You will work alongside a highly experienced ventilation and gas drainage team within the Technical Services Department. You will also work closely with Outbye, Development and Longwall Departments to achieve set maintenance and production KPIs. You will be able to develop and implement plans in compliance to the Site Safety and Health Management System and QLD Coal Mine Safety and Health Act and Regulations.

The successful applicant should possess a Mining Engineer qualification and ventilation officer competency (RIIUND603D - Manage, operate and maintain the mine ventilation system or equivalent) with a minimum of five years underground coal mining experience. You will have previous experience with contractor management and have excellent written and verbal communication skills. Statutory qualifications to at least the level of a 3 rd Class Certificate of Competency is highly desirable.
