Job Overview

  • Plans and coordinates work flow.
  • Maintains an equipment structure and level to accomplish the Warehouse and Distribution mission in a safe, effective manner.
  • Monitors the unloading of all materials into the Warehouse;
  • Oversees material movement activities and monitors accuracy of on hand balances.
  • Ensures materials are stored properly to conserve space and comply with safety procedures.
  • Contacts freight firms for scheduling of normal or special handling requirements.
  • Maintain warehouse vehicles such as trucks and forklifts and also building and security needs and associated paperwork.
  • Purchase various supplies used in shipping and receiving and warehouse and building maintenance, such as containers, lumber, filler.
  • Maintain records relating to employee hours worked, truck runs, mileage, Authorization Return Goods (ARG) returns, vacations, accident reports. Other duties as assigned by leadership.

  • Education / Qualification

    This position requires three to five years experience in Warehousing, Receiving, Inventory Control, or Materials Management in a warehousing or logistics environment with two years Supervisory experience. An Associates Degree or higher in Business Management, Industrial Management or related field is preferred. Also required is a strong knowledge of Receiving, Warehouse, and Material Handling operations, methods, and practices; and the ability to develop personnel and equipment structures to support present and future operations. Knowledge of Bar Code Technology and Electronic Data Interchange a plus. Must possess the ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing. SAP and Microsoft Office application experience is preferred.
