About the role

Due to an internal transfer we are seeking an accomplished Supervisor to lead and motivate the highly qualified team within the New Machines Workshop at our world class facility in Tomago.

Based at Tomago and reporting to the Branch Manager, the New Machines Supervisor provides leadership to a team of 40+ highly qualified technicians to ensure safety and quality of work is of the highest standard. You will ensure effective work order management to achieve business targets of safety, productivity and compliance to Customer, WesTrac and Caterpillar requirements. Delivering up to 200 new machines per year to our wide range of customers in the construction and mining industry in NSW

This position is offered on a full time permanent basis working Monday to Friday, 6:30am – 5pm.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coaching a team of 40+ highly qualified technicians
  • Supporting the team in introducing and improving safe work practices
  • Planning and scheduling of resources in line with fluctuating workload
  • Working closely with Project Managers and Sales teams to meet customer requirements
  • Work with the team to look for continuous improvement in day to day operations.
  • Work together with project managers, engineering, sales and pricing teams to continuously improve overall quality of the WesTrac/Cat product and brand.

Skills & Experience
  • High Safety Awareness
  • Strong communication, interpersonal and leadership skills
  • Trade qualified with extensive post trade experience
  • Sound planning, organisation and problem solving skills
  • Ability to successfully manage fluctuating workloads and prioritise accordingly
  • Ability to identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities
  • High level of diagnostic and fault finding skills
  • Strong focus on minimising waste and costs
  • Desirable - Cert IV Training & Assessment
