ABOUT OUR OPERATION:

The Center for Support and Development is located in Rouyn-Noranda (Cadillac sector), in Abitibi-Témiscamingue. We provide services to Agnico Eagle's various Canadian and / or international mining operations in a variety of areas, including administration, financial services, IT, purchasing and logistics, human resources, communications and technical services (geology, engineering, metallurgy, PMO, infrastructure and environment).

The Technical Services Department develops concepts related to new projects through technical studies, it shares knowledge and lessons learned (risks and opportunities) throughout the Company, and it provides high-level technical support to continuously improve quality.

YOUR NEXT CHALLENGE:

Reporting to the Resource Estimation Coordinator, the Geology Technician (Resource Estimation) is a member of the of the geology department of the CSD and ensures the proper functioning of the reserve and resource estimation process. He provides technical support to resource geologists as well as transmitting relevant geological information to the various stakeholders. It is part of the process of interpolation and validation of resource estimations. He also helps to ensure that the department remains at the forefront of technology, use of software and procedures.

Your Next Challenges
  • Provide technical support to resource geologists for processing, 3D modeling and the resource and reserve estimation process;
  • Provide technical support to the divisions for operating tools related to geology;
  • Improve processes (innovation, new tools, etc.);
  • Assist geo-scientific database administrators;
  • Assist geologists in writing reports and memos;
  • Assist to the creation of figures for the various reports;
  • All other related tasks.


WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED

  • A diploma of college studies (DEC) in Mineral Technology or other relevant education;
  • Have a minimum of two (2) to five (5) years of experience in the mining field or any other experience deemed relevant;
  • Experience in resource estimation and geostatistics is an asset;
  • Knowledge of software such as Datamine and Leapfrog is a considerable asset;
  • Knowledge of databases (Access, SQL);
  • Knowledge of Python and Html languages is a considerable asset;
  • Be able to work within the deadlines set;
  • Be open and available to travel to different divisions;
  • Have a three-dimensional vision;
  • Proficiency in English and French;
  • The ability to communicate in Spanish is an asset.

Your Work Schedule

The position is located at the CSD (Support and Development Centre), Preissac, 60 km from Val-d'Or and 50 km from Rouyn-Noranda. There is a possibility of working a few days from another AEM office, as well as a few days of teleworking. The schedule is Monday to Friday (40 hours per week), with the possibility of a 5-2 4-3 schedule.
