ABOUT OUR OPERATION:

Agnico Eagle has three active properties in Nunavut. The Meadowbank open-pit mine, in operation since 2010; the Amaruq satellite deposit, which is 50 kilometers northwest of Meadowbank and the Meliadine underground mine, in operation since 2019. To support the Nunavut projects, Agnico Eagle has staff based out of 2 regional offices, located in Val d'Or and Mirabel, Quebec.

YOUR NEXT CHALLENGE:

Reporting to the Finance Superintendent, the Business Analyst will perform his/her duties as a member of the Finance department and collaborate with other departments of the division. He/she will ensure that the goals and objectives are achieved, while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle's culture, Health & Safety Code of Conduct and the environment. The Business Analyst has an internal business management /accounting perspective. The Business Analyst will support the financial reporting group of the accounting department whenever necessary and needed.
  • Owner of the consolidation of the budget, forecast and life of mine exercise from various departments;
  • Proactively enforce cost control and variance analysis by department;
  • Prepare analysis and presentation to management;
  • Main user of the strategic planning/analysis software at the mine site level;
  • Making sure changes to mine plans is reflected properly in the different planning exercises;
  • Preparation of monthly operations and quarterly business reviews;
  • Calculate return on investments (IRR, NPV and payback);
  • Assisting the Finance Superintendent in analyzing the financial results and KPIs of the operation.


WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance with CPA designation or Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering with an MBA;
  • 3-7 years of experience in financial/accounting field;
  • Mining experience is an asset;
  • Experience working in a multicultural environment;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team;
  • Excellent working knowledge of all Microsoft Office software especially Outlook, Excel, Word & PowerPoint;
  • Strong ability to effectively communicate in English (Oral and written);
  • Strong attention to detail and quality;
  • Capacity to set/attain targets, obtain results and make decisions;
  • The person should have advanced Excel knowledge, and experience with valuation modeling is advantageous.

Your Work Schedule
  • Schedule: Monday to Friday; position can be based in Val d'Or or Mirabel, (Quebec) with occasional presence at the mine site in Nunavut.
