ABOUT OUR OPERATION:

Agnico Eagle is always looking for new talented team members to join our Nunavut mining operations. Meliadine is located just northwest of Rankin Inlet, a small coastal town on the shores of Hudson Bay. Commercial production began at Meliadine in mid-May 2019 and the mine officially opened at the end of June. This mine is our largest gold deposit in terms of mineral resources and we expect to operate it for at least 14 years. The site features a power plant and processing facilities, as well as a complete camp complex.

YOUR NEXT CHALLENGE:

The Construction Commissioning Specialist (temporary) reports to the Construction Commissioning Coordinator and works closely with other members of the construction team. The incumbent should have the ability to work autonomously and be very proactive. They help ensure goals and objectives are attained while respecting Agnico Eagle's company culture, health and safety policies, and the environment.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare, build, follow and track the pre-operation progress by phases, in all disciplines (POV);
  • Organize weekly meetings for updates on the commissioning progression;
  • Participate in the hot commissioning process with the operations team (POT);
  • Respect the construction and commissioning schedule;
  • Participate in the log out - tag out strategy;
  • Prepare all relevant turn over documents (hand over, technical acceptance, etc.);
  • Organize a walk-down with the operations team for each site area;
  • Build, update, and track the deficiencies list.


WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED

  • 5+ years of experience in mill and mine operations;
  • Experience working in/knowledge of the Mechanical/Electrical disciplines is an asset;
  • Strong attention for detail and critical/analytical thinking skills;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, communication skills and the ability to work in a team;
  • Resourcefulness and creative problem-solving skills;
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and maximize efficiencies in daily work;
  • Positive attitude, adaptability, and a demonstrated high degree of initiative;
  • Advanced English language skills, written and spoken; selected candidates must attain a passing mark on a Speexx English language assessment.


Your Work Schedule
  • Schedule: 7 days of work, followed by 7 days for transportation and rest; flights departing from all communities in the Kivalliq region, Mirabel or Val-d'Or, Quebec.
