The Center for Support and Development is located in Rouyn-Noranda (Cadillac sector), in Abitibi-Témiscamingue. We provide services to Agnico Eagle's various Canadian and / or international mining operations in a variety of areas, including administration, financial services, IT, purchasing and logistics, human resources, communications and technical services (geology, engineering, metallurgy, PMO, infrastructure and environment).

The Technical Services Department develops concepts related to new projects through technical studies, it shares knowledge and lessons learned (risks and opportunities) throughout the Company, and it provides high-level technical support to continuously improve quality.


Under the supervision of the Superintendent of Technical Services - Resource Geology, the Senior Resource Geologist will oversee all stages of geological resource estimation for one or more Agnico Eagle projects. He/she will also support strategic corporate initiatives in continuous improvement of resource estimation processes. The candidate will work as part of an expert team in database processing, 3D modelling, and resource estimation where excellence in leadership is expected. The Senior Resource Geologist will be on the cutting edge of technology, innovative and committed to implementing the latest geostatistical advances to build a solid foundation for the company's future operations. In this key position, the Senior Resource Geologist should be able to effectively communicate results during technical reviews or presentations to various stakeholders (corporate, operations, exploration, study team, etc.). The candidate may also be required to work on advanced exploration projects, open-pit and underground mines, located in various regions or countries.
  • Act as qualified person on one or more Agnico Eagle projects;
  • Ensure or supervise 3D modelling, geostatistical processing and development of various estimation parameters;
  • Participate in or supervise drafting of technical studies (preliminary, pre-feasibility and feasibility) and draft technical reports in compliance with NI43-101;
  • Effectively communicate with the geoinformatics team during establishment of various block models and databases;
  • Effectively communicate with Agnico Eagle's various exploration groups in developing mineral deposits for which he/she is responsible;
  • Provide pertinent geological information and support to other technical departments (mining engineering, infrastructure, environment and metallurgy) by addressing their questions;
  • Participate in innovation projects or project assessments.


  • Bachelor's Degree in Geology or Geological Engineering;
  • Minimum of 12 years' experience in the mining industry, including 7 years as a Resource Geologist;
  • Member in good standing of the Ordre des Géologues du Québec or the Ordre des Ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ);
  • Must be a Qualified Person (QP) under NI43-101;
  • Extensive experience in 3D modelling, resource estimation and geostatistics;
  • Able to work within deadlines;
  • Knowledge of software such as Leapfrog, Datamine and Supervisor is a considerable asset;
  • Ability to communicate orally and in writing in English is essential;
  • Ability to communicate in French and Spanish is an asset;
  • Available to travel occasionally.

your work schedule

The schedule is daytime, Monday to Friday (40 hours per week), with the possibility of a 5-2 4-3 schedule. Technical Services has offices in Preissac, Rouyn-Noranda, Val-d'Or and Toronto. The candidate's work location will be determined (including the possibility of telecommuting days).
