YOUR NEXT CHALLENGE:

Reporting to the Corporate Director Reserve Development, the Manager, Mineral Resource & Reserve Audit will be responsible for working with a team to develop geological models and a global mineral resource and reserve estimate following NI 43-101 standards and best practice guidelines. The selected candidate may be required to travel to any Agnico Eagle site, in order to develop best practices with each division in regards to the MRMR estimates, as well as provides coaching to the Resource Geologists in order to develop internal expertise regarding the MRMR estimates. As required, the incumbent assumes the role of Qualified Person (QP) for new projects if there are no teams in place.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct oversight site visits and meetings to support QP employees in the MRMR estimates and in the selection of the tools and parameters during their calculations;
  • Audit and review work protocol to ensure each site follows the CIM guidelines. If required, put in place the best practice protocol for work with the division.
  • Assist with the preparation of the consolidated statements of the MRMR (year-end and mid-year update) for external publication (press release) and for internal purposes, for the development of the strategy regarding the reserve development to support the future Life of Mine (LOM) and to replace the yearly production.
  • Coach and develop Company Geologists in order to support the development of the internal expertise.
  • Technical review of economic studies required for the capital allocation process, ensure that all technical aspect regarding MRMR are appropriate for the economic study, and writing of technical reports.
  • Develop new tools and standards of practice for MRMR estimate in order to decrease the risk and to increase the level of confidence during the MRMR calculation.


WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED

  • Bachelor in Geology or Geological Engineering;
  • Specialized in resource modelling and MRMR estimates;
  • 10 to 15 years of experience in mineral resource & reserve estimation and technical report writing;
  • Excellent knowledge of CIM best practices and NI 43-101 regulations;
  • Experience in various geological contexts and types of mineralization; solid experience in modelling complex structural geological and mineralization systems is an asset
  • Experience in mine production both underground and open-pit is an asset
  • Good communication and presentation skills;
  • Ability to prioritize tasks by objectives;
  • Ability to develop and maintain a professional relationship with key Stakeholders;
  • Good knowledge of the methods, tools and geo-statistical software used for the MRMR estimates, modeling and the model interpolation and ability to define estimation parameters;
  • Good knowledge of the Resource Estimation software, Datamine is an asset
  • Good knowledge of the Microsoft software's.
  • Ability to communicate in French and English, Spanish considered an asset


Your Work Schedule

Schedule: Monday to Friday, 40-hour work week.
Location: Flexible location within Canada, reporting to the Corporate office in Toronto, ON
