ABOUT OUR OPERATION:

Agnico Eagle is always looking for new talented team members to join our Nunavut mining operations. We have been operating at Meadowbank, our first Low Arctic mine, near Baker Lake for over nine years. The mine produced its three millionth ounce of gold in 2018. 2019 marked the last year of production at the Meadowbank mine, and has since transitioned to process ore from the Amaruq satellite deposit. With the official opening of the Amaruq Whale Tail Project in August 2019, the project is now referred to as the Meadowbank Complex.

YOUR NEXT CHALLENGE:

Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, the Fixed Equipment Operator will perform his/her duties as a member of the site services departments and collaborate with other departments of the division. He/she will ensure that the goals and objectives are achieved, while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle's culture, Health & Safety Code of Conduct and the environment.
  • Ensures the proper functioning of the Fixed Equipment, related to water and sewage treatment;
  • Monitors Fixed Equipment;
  • Collect water samples for chemical analysis;
  • Perform chemical tests;
  • Operate water and sewage trucks;
  • Any other duties required by the Supervisor .


WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED

  • High School Diploma
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience with fixed equipment operation for potable water treatment and/or waste water treatment;
  • A Valid Class 5 drivers license;
  • Must be a Level 1 potable water treatment operator;
  • Must be a Level 1 waste water treatment operator;
  • May be required to complete an apprenticeship and/or formal training in the area of specialty;
  • Be comfortable to work in confined spaces and with working at height;
  • Possess an adequate physical condition;
  • Be vaccinated against hepatitis A and B is required (for Health & Safety reasons);
  • Possess an excellent ability to manage emergency situations and working under pressure;
  • Willingness to work outdoors;
  • Possess the following skills: Punctuality, Flexibility, Honesty, Autonomous, takes initiative, and is organized;
  • Experience working in a multicultural environment;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a team;
  • Strong ability to effectively communicate in English (Oral and written). Selected candidates must attain a passing mark on the SPEEXX English language assessment.

Your Work Schedule:
  • Schedule: 14 days of work, followed by 14 days for transportation and rest; flights departing from all communities of the Kivalliq region, Mirabel or Val-d'Or, Quebec.
