Agnico Eagle Finland Oy, subsidiary of Agnico Eagle Mines Limited, operates a gold mine in Kittilä and carries out mineral prospecting in the Nordic countries. The Kittilä mine is the largest primary gold producer in Europe and employs around 500 people offering them new roles, new challenges and unique assignments in exploration, development and operations. We are looking for a Development Manager to Kittilä

As Development Manager you will lead mill technology and continuous improvement projects within the mill department, track progress and milestones in all mill projects and create business cases for any potential improvement projects. The role is new in the organization and you will have a great opportunity to make a difference in developing and shaping the future mill. You will work in the Mill Department and collaborate with other departments and report to the Mill Superintendent. Your role is to ensure that the goals and objectives are achieved while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle's culture, Health and Safety, Code of Conduct and the environment.

Your key responsibilities will be to:
  • Assist in the elaboration of business cases for any potential project within the mill;
  • Initiate brainstorm and workshop sessions to generate new ideas and identify new opportunities within the mill;
  • Assist in the implementation of technology projects driving the team to ensure high performance and productivity;
  • Conduct follow ups on action plans and progress tracking for all projects;
  • Produce progress reports with high accuracy;
  • Be the driver and point of contact for all technology implementation and continuous improvement within the mill. We are working with projects such as advanced process control, new ways to further develop our side streams to increase recovery, debottleneck and improve process equipment's to be able to increase production to name a few;
  • Produce risk assessments, project charters and procedures for projects;
  • Promote a culture of high efficiency.

To succeed you should have
  • M.Sc. or B.Sc. from a relevant field of study;
  • Relevant work experience;
  • Project management skills and experience of leading projects;
  • Working knowledge and understanding of milling practices, procedures and/or experience in milling or process industry is an advantage;
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize and work under tight deadlines on multiple initiatives;
  • A positive attitude and problem-solving skills;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work in an international team;
  • Strong ability to communicate in English (oral and written). Knowledge of other languages, especially Finnish, is an advantage;
  • Excellent working knowledge of all Microsoft Office Suite applications.
