ABOUT OUR OPERATION:

Agnico Eagle has three active properties in Nunavut. The Meadowbank open-pit mine, in operation since 2010; the Amaruq satellite deposit, which is 50 kilometers northwest of Meadowbank and the Meliadine underground mine, in operation since 2019. To support the Nunavut projects, Agnico Eagle has staff based out of 2 regional offices, located in Val d'Or and Mirabel, Quebec.

YOUR NEXT CHALLENGE:

Reporting to the Finance Coordinator, the Controller is part of the Finance Department and collaborates with other departments of both the Meadowbank and Meliadine Mine. He/she will ensure that the goals and objectives are achieved while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle's culture, Health & Safety Code of Conduct and the environment.
  • Supervise the accountants and provide support in their tasks;
  • Ensure compliance with Agnico Eagle Mines' accounting standards (internal controls, policies and procedures);
  • Submit final quarterly reports, analyzes financial statements (balance sheets and income statements) and forwards them to the head office in accordance with established schedules;
  • Transfer financial statements from JDE to Hyperion (HFM);
  • Responsible for the various audits of the divisions;
  • Ensure that requests from internal and external auditors are adequately and timely produced;
  • Assist the various departments in implementing the Sarbanes-Oxley Act;
  • Provide support to the Finance Superintendent for budget preparation, quarterly forecasting process and LOM;
  • Produce the administrative budget, the quarterly forecasts and LOM;
  • Provide support to the Finance Superintendent for any other analysis required;
  • Respect health and safety rules and ensure they are respected in the workplace.


WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance with CPA designation
  • 3-5 years of experience in the financial/accounting field;
  • Mining experience is an asset;
  • Experience working in a multicultural environment;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a team;
  • Excellent working knowledge of all Microsoft Office Suite applications especially Outlook, Excel, Word & PowerPoint;
  • Strong ability to effectively communicate in English (Oral and written). Selected candidates must attain a passing mark on the SPEEXX English language assessment.

Your Work Schedule
  • Schedule: Monday to Friday, 40 hours a week; office based out of Val d'Or or Mirabel, Quebec.
