YOUR NEXT CHALLENGE:

Reporting to the Corporate Director of Sustainability, Agnico Eagle's Sustainability Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating Sustainability and Environmental Social and Governance (ESG) reporting and communication for internal and external stakeholders. The position will work closely with all divisions, Corporate Communications and Investors Relations departments. The incumbent will also provide support for Sustainability initiatives and functions, including the stakeholder advisory committee and sustainability materiality assessments.

Sustainability Reporting:

This position will be responsible for coordinating Agnico Eagle's Sustainability performance reporting, both externally and internally, as well as ensuring data integrity. In particular:
  • The position will coordinate the production of the annual Sustainability report, provide Sustainability content for the AEM website, social media, intranet and other internal communication material. The person will also support the coordination of companion sustainability reports, including regional reports and reports on material topics.
  • The incumbent will coordinate collecting information for responses for Environmental Social and Governance (ESG) external rating agencies surveys.


ESG data management
  • This position will be responsible for collecting ESG data intended for public distribution (Board package, sustainability reports, web site, investment relation publications, etc.). The incumbent is responsible for day-to-day management of ESG data records, including ensuring proper data storage, retrieving historical data, data analysis and visualization, documenting standards, and performing data quality checks.
  • The incumbent will provide support for AEM's Stakeholder Engagement Software (Borealis)

Sustainability Support:
  • This position will provide support for initiatives related to the functions under the Sustainability umbrella (Health and Safety, Environment and Community Relations), including coordinating the activities of AEM's Stakeholder Advisory Committee
  • The position will be responsible for coordinating AEM's sustainability materiality assessments.


ORGANIZATIONAL STRUCTURE

In addition to the direct reporting link to the Director of Sustainability, collaboration and support links with other members of the Corporate Sustainability team and technical corporate team, this position will have the following organizational links:

  • A functional relationship with the GM and ENV superintendents of all divisions;
  • A support relationship with the environmental staff of all divisions; and
  • A collaboration link to the Environmental Team of technical services.
  • A collaboration link to the Investor Relations Team


MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Specifically, the main duties and responsibilities can be summarized by the following:

Sustainability Reporting
  • Prepare updates on the Sustainability Key Performance Indicators for the Quarterly Board Package, to be presented to the Health Safety Environment/Sustainable Development committee of the board;
  • Coordinate the Sustainability report preparation:
    • Coordinate the annual data collection for sustainability performance by identifying required content update and coordinating with a cross-functional, global team to collect reporting data;
    • Support the preparation of the report in accordance with the following standards and frameworks: Global Reporting Initiative (GRI), Sustainability Accounting Standards Board (SASB), and Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD);
    • Develop and maintain project checklists in order to keep the annual reporting process on schedule;

Contribute to the development of reporting process improvements;
  • As required, prepare a benchmark of sustainability performance and reports in the mining industry and also for reputable non-mining companies to be included in the annual review of format, theme, content etc. Coordinate submissions and revisions of ESG external ratings agencies surveys and reports including Sustainalytics, S&P Global Corporate Sustainability Assessment (CSA), CDP Climate, Water, and Forest responses, etc.; Collect analysts' and ESG rating agencies opinions on Agnico Eagle's Sustainability performance and/or reporting, Prepare summaries and factsheets as required; Provide Sustainability input to the AEM website, social media and intranet;

ESG data management
  • Conduct an annual quality audit of all data submitted to ensure the utmost accuracy and compliance with standards
  • Ensure storage of annual ESG data is complete, accurate, and accessible
  • Provide historical data, and perform additional data analysis and visualization as required


Sustainability Support
  • Coordinate meetings and reporting of AEM's Stakeholder Advisory Committee. Follow-up with internal stakeholders on key recommendation progress.
  • Coordinate AEM's Sustainability Materiality Assessment cycle, including updates of assessment procedures, research support, collaboration with site-level superintendents and corporate team, and data collection and analysis.
  • Participate in HSEC audits (ex: RMMS) as required.
  • Provide training and technical support for AEM Borealis users including supporting the implementation of new modules, preparing training presentations, ensuring proper user access, and modifying data dictionaries.


WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED

  • Ideally based in Ontario or Quebec to facilitate access to several of our operating sites;
  • Be able to visit on a periodic or as-needed basis our sites to maintain good relationships with the operations and to be able to provide support on an as-needed basis;
  • Have a recognized wide-breath of knowledge and experience in aspects associated with water or tailings management;
  • Have a good understanding of Agnico Eagle operations;
  • Have a good understanding of project permitting process in Canadian jurisdictions, including environmental assessment, and if possible be familiar with the permitting process in some of the jurisdictions in which AEM has activities.


This position requires a candidate with:
  • Ideally based in Ontario or Quebec to facilitate access to several of our operating sites;
  • Be able to visit on a periodic or as needed basis our sites to maintain good relationship with the operations and to be able to provide support on an as-needed basis;
  • Understand Agnico Eagle's operations;
  • Have a good understanding of ESG KPIs, Reporting Agencies, and Sustainable Mining


This position requires a candidate with:

  • University education in Sustainability Management or related field;
  • 4 to 7 years of experience in Sustainability Management or related field;
  • In depth knowledge and understanding of the principles involved in environmental reporting;
  • Knowledge of GRI, SASB, TCFD, and CDP would be an asset;
  • Strong team player with excellent written and verbal communications skills;
  • Strong organizational skills and capacity to manage multiple, concurrent deadlines under tight timelines;
  • Attention to detail and proven ability to audit large quantities of data for accuracy/trends;
  • Familiarity with database development and administration
  • Ability to summarize complex Sustainability issues;
  • Capacity to work efficiently with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint);
  • Experience managing projects with tools such as MS Project and SharePoint would be an asset;
  • Self-starter and problem solver, ability to take initiative and improve on processes to attain positive results;
  • Ability to build and manage relationships with key internal and external stakeholders;
  • Fluency in English
  • Knowledge of French and/or Spanish and/or Finnish and/or Inuktitut would be an asset;
  • Familiarity with geology or mining would be an asset;
