YOUR NEXT CHALLENGE:

Reporting to the Corporate Director - Financial Planning and Analysis, the Manager - Financial Planning and Analysis has a dynamic role whose purpose is to actively promote the FP&A team vision on a global scale and actively assist in providing analytical support through various tools and reports to the Senior Vice President Finance & Chief Financial Officer. The Manager - Financial Planning and Analysis is responsible for day-to-day management of the company's consolidated financial models (forecast, 5 year plan, LOM, ELOM etc.) within the Hyperion suite of applications with cooperation from the Technical Services. The Manager - Financial Planning and Analysis will ensure the delivery of accurate and timely financial information to senior management, to support critical business decisions. The Manager - Financial Planning and Analysis is focused on delivering value added analysis using Hyperion suite as the main technical solution, including scenario analysis for various groups at the Head Office.

This position is actively involved in executing a strategy and utilizing the tools to achieve the FP&A vision. Areas of responsibility include:
  • Manage actively and continuously improve the Company's forecasting/5 Year Plan/LOM/ELOM/FPM process from consolidated point of view;
  • Provide scenario analysis for CFO, Treasury, Investor Relations, Corporate Development, and Business Strategy Group;
  • Develop new and dynamic methods of providing the Company's key decision makers with useful information on current and potential business initiatives;
  • Participate actively in and bring initiatives to company's projects surrounding data collection, warehousing, processing and distribution;
  • Monitor and improve processes ensuring quality, accuracy and consistency for all FP&A deliverables;
  • Contribute to Finance department initiatives and assist with policy and practice development and implementation;
  • Build relationships and trust with key site and non-Finance stakeholders with a goal of being viewed as a reliable partner;
  • Take part in developing and maintaining efficient methods and procedures of measuring and evaluating performance;
  • Collaborate in the planning, design, development, and deployment of new applications and enhancements to existing applications.


WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Engineering, professional accounting designation CA or CMA or similar accounting designation preferred;
  • 5+ years of related work experience
  • Experience and knowledge of USGAAP and IFRS and a very good understanding of management/external reporting requirements;
  • Strong problem solving skills including the ability to effectively address any issue in collaboration with others as appropriate; ability to proactively identify and prevent potential problems; ability to help develop problem solving skills among direct reports and other team members as appropriate; ability to translate business user needs into actionable changes within Hyperion Planning to improve processes;
  • Ability to work well under pressure and effectively and independently follow through multiple, concurrent demands and appropriately prioritize responsibilities;
  • Ability to collaborate with others and act in an objective manner in order to effectively solve problems and stay on track towards accomplishing organizational goals;
  • Strong IT skills (familiarity with an ERP system and Hyperion is a must);
  • Good communication and presentation skills;
  • Ability to travel - 20% on average annually (to mine sites and head office).
