ABOUT OUR OPERATION:
Agnico Eagle is always looking for new talented team members to join our Nunavut mining operations. Meliadine is located just northwest of Rankin Inlet, a small coastal town on the shores of Hudson Bay. Commercial production began at Meliadine in mid-May 2019 and the mine officially opened at the end of June. This mine is our largest gold deposit in terms of mineral resources and we expect to operate it for at least 14 years. The site features a power plant and processing facilities, as well as a complete camp complex.
YOUR NEXT CHALLENGE:
Reporting to the Electrical & Instrumentation Supervisor, the Industrial Programmer is part of the Electrical Maintenance Department and collaborates with other departments of the mine. He/she will ensure that the goals and objectives are achieved while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle's culture, Health & Safety Code of Conduct and the environment.

YOUR NEXT CHALLENGE:

- Work on programming, troubleshooting and updating PLC programs, HMI and SCADA;
- Field equipment adjustment, programming and troubleshooting;
- In collaboration with OT Dpt., maintain and troubleshoot the industrial network and the SCADA system platform;
- Configure and update multiple programmable components as VFD, starters and more;
- Act as a key member in the mine site processes optimization;
- Help and participate to maintain AEM engineering standards;
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment;
- Report all accidents to supervisor;
- Any other duties required by the Supervisor.
WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED
- Automation Engineering Degree or collegial degree with considerable experience;
- 5 years of experience as an Industrial Programmer or Automation Specialist;
- Aveva System Platform (formerly Wonderware) knowledge is an asset;
- Schneider PLC Systems knowledge is an asset;
- Possess the physical requirements to perform the job;
- Possess a good work ethic and a positive attitude;
- Experience working in a multicultural environment;
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a team;
- Excellent working knowledge of all Microsoft Office Suite applications especially Outlook, Excel, Word & PowerPoint;
- Strong ability to effectively communicate in English (Oral and written). Selected candidates must attain a passing mark on the SPEEXX English language assessment.
Your Work Schedule
- Schedule: 14 days of work, followed by 14 days for transportation and rest; flights departing from all communities in the Kivalliq region, Mirabel or Val-d'Or, Quebec.
