ABOUT OUR OPERATION:

Agnico Eagle is always looking for new talented team members to join our Nunavut mining operations. Meliadine is located just northwest of Rankin Inlet, a small coastal town on the shores of Hudson Bay. Commercial production began at Meliadine in mid-May 2019 and the mine officially opened at the end of June. This mine is our largest gold deposit in terms of mineral resources and we expect to operate it for at least 14 years. The site features a power plant and processing facilities, as well as a complete camp complex.

YOUR NEXT CHALLENGE:

  • Attend a 42-day training (3 rotations) program at the Meliadine mine site;
  • Process Plant Trainee will learn during the training program how to :
  • Perform specific tasks such as cleaning (areas/equipment), lock-out/tag-out, and supporting the maintenance team when required;
  • Perform daily crushing work, such as inspecting, greasing and operating the crushers and rock breakers;
  • Ensure that conveyors, compressors, dust collectors and screens are clear and in good condition, taking action if anomalies are detected;
  • Fill reports relating to the work area;
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  • The employee must succeed all parts of the training to graduate;
  • Employees must respect AEM's policies before and during the program.


WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED

  • Must pass a pre-employment medical exam and be deemed fit to work;
  • Possess the physical requirements to perform the job;
  • Possess strong work ethics, a positive attitude and the ability to work in a team;
  • Experience working in a multicultural environment;
  • Strong ability to effectively communicate in English (oral and written).
  • Successfully complete a literacy and numeracy skill assessment;
  • Those who successfully complete the program will be hired as full-time permanent Agnico Eagle employees with the Process Plant Department.
  • Priority is given to Inuit candidates.
