ABOUT OUR OPERATION:

Agnico Eagle has three active properties in Nunavut. The Meadowbank open-pit mine, in operation since 2010, the Amaruq s atel l ite depos i t, which is 50 km no rth w est o f Meadowbank and the Melia d i n e underground mine, in operation since 2019. To support the Nunavut projects, Agnico Eagle has staff based out of 2 regional offices, located in Val d'Or and M i r a b el, Quebec.

YOUR NEXT CHALLENGE:

Reporting to the Project Control Superintendent, the Procurement Agent is part of the Construction Department and collaborates with other departments of the mine. He/she will ensure that the goals and objectives are achieved while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle's culture, Health & Safety Code of Conduct and the environment.
  • Apply and enforce procurement procedures;
  • Ensure the qualification and monitoring of bidders;
  • Prepare and issue tender documents;
  • Receive requests from bidders, coordinate with engineering and issued addendum;
  • Coordinate bids opening with project team;
  • Conduct commercial analysis and coordinate clarification with bidders;
  • Negotiate terms and conditions applicable to the purchase order;
  • Produce the recommendation to award and obtain written approval;
  • Issue letters of intent and regret;
  • Prepare requisition in the system, issue purchase orders and manage changes to the order;
  • Support project team on the day-to-day material request;
  • Anticipate and analyze the risks associated with critical suppliers;
  • Ensure compliance and respect of contractual commitments;
  • Negotiate, resolve conflicts and support in the interpretation of purchase orders;
  • Support management team to define the best purchasing strategies according to its amenities;
  • Selection of new suppliers;
  • Negotiate and set up commercial and contractual agreements;
  • Maintain business relationships with suppliers;
  • Complete the administrative PO closure;
  • Manage and negotiate back-charge.


WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering and/or Business Administration or any other training deemed equivalent;
  • 3-5 years of experience in procurement in an environmental, industrial or mining project setting;
  • Demonstrate dynamism, autonomy and a sense of work organization;
  • Skills in communication and negotiation;
  • Ability to analyze and synthesize recommendations;
  • Demonstrate ability to lead meetings;
  • Strong communication skills, both written and spoken in English and French;
  • Experience working in a multicultural environment;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a team;
  • Excellent working knowledge of all Microsoft Office Suite applications especially Outlook, Excel, Word & PowerPoint.

Your Work Schedule
  • Schedule: 5 days of work, followed by 2 days for rest; a combination of tele-working with presence at our offices in Val d'Or, QC.
