ABOUT OUR OPERATION:

Agnico Eagle is always looking for new talented team members to join our Nunavut mining operations. Meliadine is located just northwest of Rankin Inlet, a small coastal town on the shores of Hudson Bay. Commercial production began at Meliadine in mid-May 2019 and the mine officially opened at the end of June. This mine is our largest gold deposit in terms of mineral resources and we expect to operate it for at least 14 years. The site features a power plant and processing facilities, as well as a complete camp complex.

YOUR NEXT CHALLENGE:

Reporting to the Energy & Infrastructure Supervisor, the Heating Systems Technician is part of the Energy & Infrastructure Department and collaborates with other departments of the mine. He/she will ensure that the goals and objectives are achieved while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle's culture, Health & Safety Code of Conduct and the environment.
  • Experience and / or skills on equipment alignment (pump, fans, motors and others);
  • Experience and / or skills on heating and ventilating equipment. Operation and / or Maintenance;
  • Glycol system distribution, operation and / or maintenance;
  • Fire distribution system, repair and maintenance, diesel and electric pump;
  • Knowledge and / or experience on incinerator;
  • Knowledge and / or experience on waste oil clarification and management;
  • P & ID, being able to read and understand piping drawings (P & Id: piping and instruments drawings);
  • Familiar with CSA B-51 Boiler, Pressure Vessel, and Pressure Piping Code & ASME Code Section VI Recommended Rules for the Care and Operation of Heating Boilers.


WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED

  • SOPEEC recognized 4th Class Power Engineer;
  • Oil Burning Technician certificate or experience is an asset;
  • 2- 5 years of experience in the mechanical field;
  • Mining experience is an asset;
  • Experience working in a multicultural environment;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a team;
  • Strong ability to effectively communicate in English (Oral and written). Selected candidates must attain a passing mark on the SPEEXX English language assessment.

Your Work Schedule
  • Schedule: 14 days of work, followed by 14 days for transportation and rest; flights departing from all communities in the Kivalliq region, Mirabel or Val-d'Or, Quebec.
